Karen Cook is the sitting Ward 3 Councillor. With the recent restructuring of the Ward boundaries, many former Ward 3 households are now in Ward 2, including Karen’s; so, she is running for Ward 2 Councillor. Karen is concerned about the same things you worry about in our community including increases in taxes, responsible tax spending, and accountability in leadership. She understands the importance of balancing a growing community while honouring its’ roots.  

Karen has many years of experience serving the public in health care, nursing, education, the legal field, the automotive and service industries, and politics.  She comes from long family history of successful entrepreneurs dating back to the early 1900's.  Karen possesses a Master of Education, Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Psychology, Small Business Management Certificate, Red Cross Instructors Certification, and diplomas as a Registered Practical Nurse, Operating Room Technician, and Paralegal.  

As the owner of Central Elgin-based business KC Training Plus, Karen recognizes the importance of balancing income and spending wisely. She strongly believes government should be run the same way we run our households – practically, economically, and efficiently. With her education, experience, and knowledgebase, Karen is better able to understand various facets of the industries and their immediate and long-term needs. She believes in balancing progress with tradition. Karen Cook as your Ward 2 Councillor ensures cohesiveness, honesty, and transparency.
